the late 90s were a creative boom on the internet. tons of people were building their own personal pages. however, there was a steep barrier to entry... you had to code.
the early to mid 2000s were a huge step forward from a ease of use standpoint, but sadly at the expense of true personalization. :|
as much as we grew up on social media, we've become really tired its the rigid and unnecessary confines.
